We’ve had a busy couple of years…

I haven’t blogged in a long time, as my little company has been taking flight, going from part-time side hustle, to limping duck, to a thriving business with a killer team and amazing freelancers in Canada and around the world. In the past two years, we’ve had so much work that telling people about it has totally fallen by the wayside.

So let me tell you about it.

If you’re on this website, you already know that Power of Babel provides language services: dubbing, subtitling, translation and accessibility.

We work with film and TV producers, creative agencies, the advertising industry, educational companies, foundations and non-profits, in Canada and around the world.

Since 2021 alone, we’ve dubbed multiple children’s animation series, factual series and documentaries into French and Spanish:

We’ve dubbed podcasts into French for Historica Canada and the Canadian Museum of History, and into German for Antica Productions and the Leo Baeck Institute – New York | Berlin

We’ve provided world-class subtitles to producers such as the National Film Board of Canada, Sphinx Productions, Hungry Eyes Media, Pier 21 Films Ltd., Sid Lee and others.

And we’ve served ongoing clients such as Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, Circle of Security International, Atlas, Acemedia Production, Pear Healthcare Solutions Inc. and Ethnicity Matters, helping them reach audiences in Canada and around the world.

I launched Power of Babel in 2012 with co-founder (and former partner) Dave Boire, thinking there was a gap in the market – an opportunity for a language-services company that understands audiovisual production, obsesses about getting language and culture right, and supports great storytelling

It turned out I was right. I’m excited about where we are now, where we’re going and the opportunities ahead.
